There was a large if eccentric feature article about the book and its author in yesterday's Liverpool Daily Post.
I was brought up on Merseyside. (We used to say "on" Merseyside because it was a geographical description of a broad riverside location; now you're supposed to say "in Merseyside" because it's an official local-government/postal-type designation.)
